Here, we reconstructed ~300 kyr of productivity and bottom current strength in the Pacific Antarctic seasonal sea-ice zone (SIZ), based on multi-proxy data from core ANT36/A3–08, using a chronology constrained by core-top radiocarbon, tephrostratigraphy, and orbital-scale geochemical correlation. Through glacial-interglacial cycles, productivity and bottom current strength covary, with higher values during interglacials and lower during glacials. This pattern is consistent with large-scale vertically coupled responses to meridional shifts of Southern Hemisphere Westerly Winds (SWW), which modulate surface upwelling and bottom currents along the Pacific Antarctic margin. Superimposed on this orbital-scale pattern are transient anomalies driven by buoyancy and atmospheric forcing. At the MIS 6/5 transition, meltwater-induced stratification counteracted the expected SWW-driven intensification, producing muted increases in productivity and bottom current strength, despite a pronounced poleward shift of SWW. During MIS 2, both records intensified briefly, coinciding with heightened variability in the Amundsen Sea Low (ASL). Stronger ASL variability likely enhanced sea-ice divergence and intermittent polynya formation, thereby strengthening brine rejection. Together, these paired productivity and bottom current signals are interpreted to reflect changes in upper-limb upwelling and lower-limb deep renewal at the Pacific Antarctic margin, providing a site-scale imprint of broader Southern Ocean overturning adjustments and highlighting sensitivity to future SWW shifts and increasing Antarctic meltwater input."}],"geoLocations":[],"fundingReferences":[{"funderIdentifierType":"Crossref Funder ID","funderName":"National Natural Science Foundation of China","funderIdentifier":"10.13039/501100001809","awardTitle":"The linkage between ocean-force West Antarctic Ice Sheet instability and tropical processes since Late Pleistocene","awardNumber":"42306266"},{"funderIdentifierType":"Crossref Funder ID","funderName":"National Natural Science Foundation of China","funderIdentifier":"10.13039/501100001809","awardTitle":"Contribution of the Southern Ocean to atmospheric pCO2 drawdown during the Northern Hemisphere glaciation (NHG): clues for the cause of NHG","awardNumber":"42076232"}],"url":"https://zenodo.org/doi/10.5281/zenodo.13363878","contentUrl":null,"metadataVersion":17,"schemaVersion":"http://datacite.org/schema/kernel-4","source":"api","isActive":true,"state":"findable","reason":null,"viewCount":0,"downloadCount":0,"referenceCount":0,"citationCount":0,"partCount":0,"partOfCount":0,"versionCount":6,"versionOfCount":0,"created":"2024-08-23T06:04:21Z","registered":"2024-08-23T06:04:22Z","published":null,"updated":"2026-08-15T01:34:44Z"},"relationships":{"client":{"data":{"id":"cern.zenodo","type":"clients"}}}},{"id":"10.17182/hepdata.145875.v1/t19","type":"dois","attributes":{"doi":"10.17182/hepdata.145875.v1/t19","identifiers":[{"identifier":"https://www.hepdata.net/record/ins2075431","identifierType":"HEPDataRecord"},{"identifier":"https://www.hepdata.net/record/145875","identifierType":"HEPDataRecordAlt"}],"creators":[{"nameType":"Organizational","name":"ATLAS Collaboration","affiliation":[],"nameIdentifiers":[]}],"titles":[{"title":"\"PbPb leading RAA3\" of \"Measurements of the suppression and correlations of dijets in Pb+Pb collisions at $\\sqrt{s_{_\\text{NN}}}$ = 5.02 TeV\""}],"publisher":"HEPData","container":{"identifier":"10.17182/hepdata.145875.v1","identifierType":"DOI","type":"DataRepository"},"publicationYear":2024,"subjects":[{"subject":"PB PB -\u0026gt; DIJETS X","subjectScheme":"reactions"},{"subject":"5020.0","subjectScheme":"cmenergies"}],"contributors":[],"dates":[{"date":"2024-01-29 07:06:34.512308","dateType":"Updated"}],"language":"en","types":{"schemaOrg":"Dataset","resourceTypeGeneral":"Dataset","citeproc":"dataset","bibtex":"misc","ris":"DATA","resourceType":"Dataset"},"relatedIdentifiers":[{"relationType":"IsSupplementTo","relatedIdentifier":"https://inspirehep.net/literature/2075431","relatedIdentifierType":"URL"},{"relationType":"IsSupplementTo","resourceTypeGeneral":"JournalArticle","relatedIdentifier":"10.1103/physrevc.107.054908","relatedIdentifierType":"DOI"},{"relationType":"IsPartOf","resourceTypeGeneral":"Collection","relatedIdentifier":"10.17182/hepdata.145875.v1","relatedIdentifierType":"DOI"}],"relatedItems":[],"sizes":[],"formats":[],"version":"1","rightsList":[{"rightsIdentifierScheme":"SPDX","rightsUri":"https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/legalcode","schemeUri":"https://spdx.org/licenses/","rights":"Creative Commons Zero v1.0 Universal","rightsIdentifier":"cc0-1.0"}],"descriptions":[{"descriptionType":"Abstract","description":"leading jet RAA^pair in 40-60% central PbPb collisions"},{"descriptionType":"Other","description":"Studies of the correlations of the two highest transverse momentum (leading)jets in individual Pb+Pb collision events can provide information about themechanism of jet quenching by the hot and dense matter created in suchcollisions. Measurements ofthe dijet-yield-normalized $x_{\\mathrm{J}}$ distributions in Pb+Pb collisionsshow an increased fraction of imbalanced jets compared to $pp$ collisions;these measurements are in agreement with previous measurements of the samequantity at 2.76 TeV in the overlapping kinematic range. Measurements of theabsolutely-normalized dijet rate in Pb+Pb and $pp$ collisions are alsopresented, and show that balanced dijets are significantly more suppressedthan imbalanced dijets in Pb+Pb collisions. It is observed in themeasurements of the pair nuclear modification factors that the subleadingjets are significantly suppressed relative to leading jets with$p_{\\mathrm{T}}$ between 100 and 316 GeV for all centralities in Pb+Pbcollisions."}],"geoLocations":[],"fundingReferences":[],"url":"https://www.hepdata.net/record/146793","contentUrl":null,"metadataVersion":1,"schemaVersion":"http://datacite.org/schema/kernel-4","source":"mds","isActive":true,"state":"findable","reason":null,"viewCount":0,"downloadCount":0,"referenceCount":0,"citationCount":1,"partCount":0,"partOfCount":1,"versionCount":0,"versionOfCount":0,"created":"2024-01-29T07:06:37Z","registered":"2024-01-29T07:06:38Z","published":null,"updated":"2026-08-15T01:01:42Z"},"relationships":{"client":{"data":{"id":"cern.hepdata","type":"clients"}}}}],"meta":{"total":13920966,"totalPages":400,"page":1},"links":{"self":"https://api.datacite.org/dois?registered=2024\u0026resource-type-id=dataset","next":"https://api.datacite.org/dois?page%5Bnumber%5D=2\u0026page%5Bsize%5D=25\u0026registered=2024\u0026resource-type-id=dataset"}}
