Here, we performed spatial transcriptome sequencing analysis on paired formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) samples of primary and recurrent ACP from the same patient to construct spatial cellular maps of ACP in primary and recurrent states. Additionally, we utilised single-cell sequencing technology to conduct transcriptome analysis on fresh primary and recurrent samples to delineate their cellular and tumour microenvironment landscapes.\nIntegrative analysis of these datasets enabled us to group common cell populations into clusters and perform Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis on differentially expressed genes in each cell population between primary and recurrent samples. We observed a significantly increased proportion of regulatory T (Treg) cells in recurrent samples. In macrophages, IL-4R expression was markedly elevated in recurrent samples, indicating enhanced M2 polarisation. Further analysis of immune cells revealed significantly elevated SRGN expression in recurrent samples and activation of the SPP1-CD44 cell communication pathway.\nThese findings suggest that Treg cells, IL-4/IL-4R signalling, SRGN and SPP1-CD44 pathways are interconnected and collectively promote ACP recurrence. Our study delineates the spatial cellular maps of primary and recurrent ACP samples, uncovering potential mechanisms of recurrence. Drawing primarily on the evidence from randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, this entry overviews current interventions and their effectiveness for the two most common neuropsychiatric disorders to impact older adults: depression and dementia. The interventions reviewed for late life depression include pharmacological treatments (SSRIs, SNRIs, TCAs, MOAs), nonpharmacological psychotherapies (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Problem Solving Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy and Life Review and Reminiscence Therapy), exercise, and brain stimulation therapies focusing on electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), which is the most commonly used brain stimulation therapy for older age adults suffering from depression. Interventions targeting symptoms of dementia include pharmacological and nonpharmacological treatments for both cognitive symptoms and behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD). Pharmacological interventions for cognitive symptoms include acetylcholinesterase inhibitors and Nmethyl-D-aspartate antagonists, while nonpharmacological interventions include various forms of cognitive stimulation, reality orientation, and exercise. The two most common pharmacological interventions for BPSD – antidepressants and antipsychotics – and the sparse evidence that exists regarding their imapct on BPSD are also outlined. Considering that dementia and depression are strongly associated and often co-occur, this entry ends by reflecting on the promise of integrated care to better address the complex needs of elderly patients, calling attention to the need for research to include patient-centered outcomes and examine the effects of interventions on overall quality of life and effectively address scientific and societal challenges. Worldwide, multidimensional challenges, such as the pandemic, climate change or migration crises, urgently call for more collaborative research that can help in transforming social reality. However, many factors still act as obstacles to high-impact research, resulting in deficiencies and disconnects between practice and policy. As a result, inter- and transdisciplinarity are trapped in a pervasive contradiction between promotional rhetoric, on the one hand, and relatively inflexible institutional and funding reward systems, on the other hand. This contradiction needs to be fully elaborated on to understand the political, societal and economic values underlying inter- and transdisciplinarity. To fill this gap, the research programme on cultural studies of collaborative science and technology, which focuses on inter- and transdisciplinarity, studies the interconnections among i) those who
