This paper presents HIL-GPT, an industry-deployed retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) system that integrates semantic retrieval with domain-adapted large language models to support test engineers in real-world HIL workflows. The system combines domain-specific embeddings to enable traceable retrieval of test cases and requirements under industrial latency and cost constraints. Through empirical evaluation, we show that compact, domain-adapted models can achieve a favorable trade-off among accuracy, latency, and cost compared to larger general-purpose models, challenging the assumption that larger models are always preferable in industrial NLP systems. To systematically investigate the prevalence of such enzyme promiscuity, we used nontargeted metabolomics to measure dynamic metabolite ion profiles in in vitro assays with 667 successfully purified Escherichia coli enzymes in a natural intracellular metabolome extract. Notably, nearly half of these enzymes elicited significant changes in ion traces. Using a machine learning-derived multivariate classifier at a false-discovery rate of 33%, we identified unexpected changes in 135 putatively annotated metabolite ion traces, indicating the presence of so far unknown promiscuous activities in 11% of the tested enzymes, most of which have yet to be recognized for their ability to catalyze multiple reactions. Notably, we found that nucleotide-related substrates or cofactors were enriched among the newly identified reactants. For 11 promiscuous enzymes, we successfully reconstructed 22 complete reaction stoichiometries, four of which were validated experimentally. Key findings include the nucleoside phosphorylase DeoA, for which we expanded the substrate range to include pyrimidines relevant to carbon and energy utilization, and the N-acetylmannosamine kinase (NanK), which displayed both cofactor and sugar substrate promiscuity. Additionally, CobC, a putative adenosylcobalamin/α-ribazole phosphatase, catalyzes flavin mononucleotide dephosphorylation, suggesting a generalist role in vitamin biosynthesis pathways. The system generates high-resolution, color-accurate 3D avatars within minutes, enabling automated detection, localization, and measurement of simulated injuries. AI-assisted analysis reliably identified cutaneous findings, including in anatomically challenging regions, and displayed them in an interactive forensic dashboard. Advantages include speed, standardization, and anatomically precise localization. Limitations concern dermatology-focused training data, motion artifacts, and costs. HFUS enables a minimally invasive evaluation of the buccal, palatal, or lingual aspects, providing both transverse and horizontal sections of teeth and/or implants sites. By applying a conductive gel, bone, soft tissues, roots, implants, abutments, and crowns profiles can be effectively visualized. This approach might reduce the reliance on ionizing radiation while enhancing diagnostic accuracy and procedural predictability. While tobacco smoking continues to cause millions of deaths annually, the rapid uptake of e-cigarettes, heated tobacco, and synthetic nicotine pouches, particularly among the youth, risks reversing decades of progress in tobacco control. In this policy statement, 12 evidence-based key messages that highlight the CV toxicity of nicotine are presented, irrespective of delivery system, and the urgent need for comprehensive regulations. These messages address the vascular and metabolic harms of nicotine, the dangers of passive exposure, the key pathophysiological pathways leading to CV morbidity and mortality, and the economic burden of nicotine-induced CV disease. Importantly, this is the first expert consensus paper to address nicotine itself as a direct CV toxin, independent of combustion. Special attention is given to the paediatric addiction crisis, driven by flavoured products and aggressive marketing, and to the misleading narrative of ‘safer nicotine.’ This paper appears at a critical regulatory turning point: the European Commission’s revised Tobacco Taxation Directive (July 2025), which for the first time introduces minimum excise duties on e-liquids, heated tobacco, and nicotine pouches. While this directive represents an important step, it must be complemented by broader regulations, including advertising bans, flavour restrictions, and indoor-use prohibitions, applied consistently across all nicotine products. Together, the 12 key messages provide a policy blueprint to protect CV health and prevent the rise of a new generation of nicotine-addicted Methods: In this population-based study, hsCRP was measured in 448 653 UK Biobank participants without known ASCVD. The association of hsCRP with major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), CV death and all-cause death was assessed using Cox proportional hazards models. Conflicting results have been reported regarding the impact of the KIR immunogenetic system on HSCT outcomes with a scarcity of data interrogating the effect of KIR allelic polymorphism. With the aim to fill this gap, donor KIR genes derived from a national cohort of 1247 HLA-matched transplanted donor/recipient pairs were determined at a high-resolution and tested in Cox proportional hazards models. Donor/recipient (D/R) pairs bearing a KIR2DS4*00101 - HLA-C1/C2/A11 interaction showed a significant detrimental impact on progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS), transplant-related mortality (TRM) and chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGvHD) in multivariable analysis. Strong KIR2DL2/L3 - HLAC1 and especially KIR2DL3*00501 and *015 interactions showed a significant increase in the incidence of cGvHD compared to missing ligand D/R pairs. Highly inhibiting KIR3DL1 - HLA-B and HLA-A (Bw4) interactions were associated with a reduced relapse incidence as compared to weak and non-inhibiting interactions. Our study indicates that high-resolution KIR genotyping informs post-transplant outcomes with a seemingly higher protection of educated NK This paper studies Bitcoin (BTC) options on Delta Exchange, a cryptocurrency derivatives exchange, using high-frequency best-bid and best-ask snapshots and computes direction-specific PCP gaps against the BTC perpetual contract as the underlying proxy. An actionability threshold of tau is applied to retain deviations that exceed effective trading costs and a conservative funding buffer. Actionable deviations are heavy-tailed and state-dependent, occurring mainly during Greed and Extreme Greed regimes, with forward-direction breaks dominating. This paper presents an approach linking speech acoustics to DSM-5 depressive-behavior indicators through a transparent Linkage Framework. Unlike black-box models, the framework explicitly maps acoustic features (pitch variability, pauses, speech tempo) to clinical indicators, enabling interpretable, indicator-level outputs. The system runs locally on commodity hardware (HW) to preserve privacy. Preliminary evaluation on DAIC-WOZ shows directionally consistent associations between acoustic features and DSM-5 indicators for psychomotor change and concentration difficulty, supporting the design rationale. The MITRE ATT\u0026amp;CK framework, which is built on open-source intelligence sources and serves as a knowledge base for Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI), plays a key role in understanding and mitigating these threats. However, the volume, complexity and technical nature of the data in MITRE ATT\u0026amp;CK make it difficult to extract understandable insights, especially for non-technical stakeholders such as executives. In response, this work aims to develop a CTI tool called Lumeria that transforms and presents information from MITRE ATT\u0026amp;CK in a more accessible manner. The goal of Lumeria is to support users in interpreting complex CTI, enabling more informed decision-making, while also improving communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Lumeria is designed based on requirements derived from an extensive literature review and evaluated using both technical and usability metrics. It consists of multiple components presented in a dashboard. One of the main components is that campaign data from MITRE ATT\u0026amp;CK is structured into a representative attack flow following the kill chain model and presented using a storytelling-oriented approach. Additional components, including executive summaries, FAQs, a chatbot and visualizations, support both high-level understanding and more detailed exploration of the MITRE ATT\u0026amp;CK data. Large language models combined with a retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) approach are used in several components of Lumeria, including the chatbot. Future Internet Architectures (FIA) propose alternatives to the current model based on the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and the Internet Protocol (IP), but often do not address censorship resilience as a primary design goal, resulting in a lack of systematic evaluation and optimization methodologies for such resilience. SCION, an FIA for inter-domain routing, introduces Isolation Domains (ISD) and multi-path routing, which induce topological properties that impact censorship resilience. To address the research gap, this work presents a theoretical topological analysis of multiple Internet architectures, including SCION. It further provides an extensive survey of graph-theoretic robustness metrics applicable to censorship resilience evaluation and proposes a taxonomy of these metrics. Additionally, Border Breadth, a SCION-specific resilience metric, is introduced. It quantifies the structural influence of core nodes within an ISD relative to its size. Two edge-rewiring algorithms, the adapted RAC and the proposed RNP , are developed to optimize resilience in SCION topologies. To enable experimentation on operational networks, a configurable SCION testbed was implemented. While many existing defensive approaches rely on honeypots or decoy systems to divert adversaries from sensitive assets, such mechanisms are often static in nature and do not fully prevent attackers from ultimately reaching real data. This thesis proposes a secure and scalable database protection schema based on data obfuscation and synthetic data injection. The proposed approach stores real and synthetic records together within the same cloud-hosted database, with each real data point obfuscated and interleaved with synthetic data in a randomized order unknown to potential adversaries. As a result, direct database-level data exfiltration yields datasets with minimal semantic interpretability and reduced statistical value. In addition, the Elastic Stack is integrated to process database logs and enable customized alerting rules for detecting unauthorized access and data manipulation attempts in a timely manner. Recent advances in computer vision have enabled automatic prediction of aesthetic scores from images, commonly referred to as Image Aesthetic Assessment (IAA). However, most existing approaches rely on centralized datasets and centralized model training, which may overlook regional variations in aesthetic perception and raise potential privacy concerns. This thesis proposes a decentralized framework for predicting landscape aesthetic scores from geographically distributed image datasets. A Swiss landscape image dataset is constructed using publicly available sources and enriched with geographic metadata. Since the dataset lacks human-provided aesthetic ratings, a transfer learning approach based on a pre-trained convolutional neural network is employed to generate pseudo scenicness scores. The resulting dataset is then partitioned according to Swiss cantons to simulate decentralized data distributions. To investigate collaborative model training under heterogeneous data conditions, a decentralized federated learning (DFL) architecture is implemented using the FLyra platform. In this framework, each canton acts as an independent training node that exchanges model parameters through peer-to-peer communication without relying on a central aggregation server. Experimental evaluation compares centralized machine learning and decentralized learning approaches using standard evaluation metrics.
