Thirty-six broadband seismic stations were deployed at the eastern end of the Alaska slab and the Wrangell Volcanic Field for 25 months, in order to study the subduction of the Yakutat terrane. At this time the fate and consequences of subducting the Yakutat terrane is unknown. The project focuses on understanding the tectonic setting of the Wrangell Volcanic Field and its connection to the Alaskan slab.
