Of the 5 species of sea turtles associated with MIRC this annual report provides data on the habitat and movements of green turtles (Chelonia mydas) and hawksbill turtles (Eretmochelys imbricata) that were tagged by PIFSC staff and satellite-tracked in the nearshore waters of Saipan, Tinian, and Guam. The other 3 species are not generally associated with neritic nearshore waters and were not observed during this monitoring year.
