Data Management Plan

The adolescent population is considered vulnerable in aspects related to reproduction and, therefore, teenage pregnancy and its consequences represent a public health problem in several countries. In these countries, the barriers and facilitators reported on family relations and sexuality by pregnant adolescents in vulnerable situations can be factors that threaten the health of pregnant adolescents. The perception of adolescents who become pregnant generates fundamental data to meet the needs of this vulnerable group. This study aims to meet the millennium development goals and focus on improving the health of adolescents described as “left behind”. Objective: to explore and interpret emotional/psychological meanings, data/attributed in interviews with pregnant adolescents in vulnerable situations who access public health care services, about family relations and experiences related to sexuality. Participants and method: the clinical-qualitative method will be used. We will conduct an individual interview with a semi-directed script of open and in-depth questions, with pregnant teenagers, between 15 and 18 years old, from a peripheral region of the city of Campinas, Brazil. Sampling will be intentional and closed by theoretical information saturation. The data will be discussed based on the qualitative content analysis and discussed in the light of the usual concepts of the Health Psychology framework. The barriers and facilitators on family relationships and sexuality of pregnant adolescents to the health service will be identified according to their reports. This study can support more effective strategies for services and public policies to accompany these adolescents during their pregnancy, expanding care and reducing costs to the health system.
