The mission of the Special Collections Department at the University of Baltimore’s Langsdale Library is to collect, preserve, and provide access to unique resources related to the history of Baltimore City and the surrounding region. We are here to offer assistance to students, faculty, and the general public with Baltimore City–related research. Our collections contain official records of local organizations and engaged community members, photographs, letters, oral histories, and more, including our WMAR-TV and WJZ-TV Collections. These two local television stations donated thousands of hours of footage documenting Baltimore history from the latter half of the twentieth-century, as evidenced in the selected audiovisual clips shown in this presentation.
