Zu diesem Zweck wurde 75 Deutschlehrkräften mit ihren 2.117 Schüler*innen der 5. bis 7. Klassen je eine von drei Bedingungen zugewiesen, in denen über acht Monate das Leseförderprogramm \"Wir werden Textdetektive\" durchgeführt wurde. Während in einer Bedingung zusätzlich drei Fortbildungsnachmittage zur Vertiefung theoretischer Grundlagen der Leseförderung und zum Austausch über die Durchführung des Programms stattfanden (= Reflexion), nahmen andere Lehrkräfte an sechs Fortbildungsnachmittagen teil, bei denen zusätzlich gemeinsam ergänzende Unterrichtsmaterialien ausgearbeitet wurden (= Identifikation). Die Effekte der drei Bedingungen wurden geprüft, indem jeweils zu vier Messzeitpunkten - der letzte Test fand mehr als ein halbes Jahr nach der Intervention statt - Schüler*innenleistungstests sowie vier Unterrichtsbeobachtungen und Lehrkräftebefragungen durchgeführt wurden. (Projekt/IQB)","descriptionType":"Abstract"},{"lang":"en","description":"The aim of the study was to investigate, over a time period of one and a half years, how the teaching methods and consequent student achievement could be sustainably facilitated by a reading support program (which aims to teach reading strategies) and various trainings for the teachers. Group network meetings were held to support teachers further (instead of just providing them with the program). The group network meetings aimed to encourage collegial reflection and/or the identification with the principles of reading facilitation. For this study, 75 German teachers and their 2,117 students from 5th to 7th grade were assigned to one of three treatment groups; within each of these groups the reading support program “Wir werden Textdetektive” (“We become textdetectives”) was conducted over a period of eight months. In one group condition, three additional afternoon sessions were offered to the teachers to deepen their knowledge in the theoretical foundation of reading facilitation (=reflection), and to allow for an exchange in regards to the application of the program. The other teachers instead participated in six afternoon sessions, where they developed further material (= identification). The effects of the three group conditions were evaluated by student achievement tests, by observing teaching methods and through teacher questionnaires. Measurements took place at four time points.     <description xml:lang="de" descriptionType="Abstract">Ziel der Studie war es, über einen Zeitraum von eineinhalb Jahren zu prüfen, wie das Unterrichtshandeln und - in der Folge - die Schüler*innenleistungen durch ein Förderprogramm zur Vermittlung von Lesestrategien und durch verschiedene Arten der Lehrkräftefortbildung nachhaltig unterstützt werden können. Um den Lehrkräften über das reine Programm hinaus entsprechende Hilfestellungen zu geben, wurden Fortbildungsnachmittage in Form von Netzwerktreffen durchgeführt, die eine kollegiale Reflexion und/oder die Identifikation mit den Prinzipien zur Leseförderung anregen sollten. Zu diesem Zweck wurde 75 Deutschlehrkräften mit ihren 2.117 Schüler*innen der 5. bis 7. Klassen je eine von drei Bedingungen zugewiesen, in denen über acht Monate das Leseförderprogramm "Wir werden Textdetektive" durchgeführt wurde. Während in einer Bedingung zusätzlich drei Fortbildungsnachmittage zur Vertiefung theoretischer Grundlagen der Leseförderung und zum Austausch über die Durchführung des Programms stattfanden (= Reflexion), nahmen andere Lehrkräfte an sechs Fortbildungsnachmittagen teil, bei denen zusätzlich gemeinsam ergänzende Unterrichtsmaterialien ausgearbeitet wurden (= Identifikation). Die Effekte der drei Bedingungen wurden geprüft, indem jeweils zu vier Messzeitpunkten - der letzte Test fand mehr als ein halbes Jahr nach der Intervention statt - Schüler*innenleistungstests sowie vier Unterrichtsbeobachtungen und Lehrkräftebefragungen durchgeführt wurden. Unter allen drei Untersuchungsbedingungen konnten die Strategievermittlung im Unterricht sowie die Leseleistungen nachhaltig verbessert werden. (Projekt/IQB)</description>
    <description xml:lang="en" descriptionType="Abstract">The aim of the study was to investigate, over a time period of one and a half years, how the teaching methods and consequent student achievement could be sustainably facilitated by a reading support program (which aims to teach reading strategies) and various trainings for the teachers. Group network meetings were held to support teachers further (instead of just providing them with the program). The group network meetings aimed to encourage collegial reflection and/or the identification with the principles of reading facilitation. For this study, 75 German teachers and their 2,117 students from 5th to 7th grade were assigned to one of three treatment groups; within each of these groups the reading support program “Wir werden Textdetektive” (“We become textdetectives”) was conducted over a period of eight months. In one group condition, three additional afternoon sessions were offered to the teachers to deepen their knowledge in the theoretical foundation of reading facilitation (=reflection), and to allow for an exchange in regards to the application of the program.  The other teachers instead participated in six afternoon sessions, where they developed further material (= identification). The effects of the three group conditions were evaluated by student achievement tests, by observing teaching methods and through teacher questionnaires. Measurements took place at four time points. Within all three conditions the strategy transmission during lessons as well as students’ reading achievement improved sustainably. (IQB)</description>
