im Auftrag der Kultusministerkonferenz (KMK) der Bundesrepublik Deutschland bundesweit durchgeführte Studie. Sie dient der systematischen Überprüfung des Erreichens der Bildungsstandards für die Fächer Mathematik und die Naturwissenschaften in den Ländern der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Insgesamt nahmen an der Untersuchung ungefähr 44.500 Schüler*innen der 9. Jahrgangsstufe teil. Im Fach Mathematik wurden Aufgaben zu allen allgemeinen und inhaltsbezogenen mathematischen Kompetenzen getestet und in einem Globalwert für mathematische Kompetenz zusammengefasst. In den Naturwissenschaften hingegen bearbeiteten die Schüler*innen Aufgaben zur Erfassung ihrer Kompetenzen in den Bereichen „Fachwissen“ und „Erkenntnisgewinnung“ in den Fächern Biologie, Chemie und Physik (siehe auch Bildungsstandards in den Fächern). Neben den Kompetenztests kamen auch Fragebögen für Schüler*innen, Fachlehrkräfte und die Schulleitungen zum Einsatz. Diese dienten der Erfassung schulischer und außerschulischer Lerngelegenheiten und der Rahmenbedingungen, die zur Optimierung von Lernprozessen genutzt werden können. Außerdem wurden Indikatoren für die Lesekompetenz und die kognitiven Grundfähigkeiten der Schüler*innen erhoben. (IQB)","descriptionType":"Abstract"},{"lang":"en","description":"The National Assessment Study in Mathematics and Science 2012 (IQB Ländervergleich Mathematik und Naturwissenschaften 2012) is a nationwide large-scale assessment commissioned by the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder (KMK) in the Federal Republic of Germany. The study was designed to assess students’ achievement in mathematics, biology, chemistry and physics and to evaluate to which extent they meet educational standards in the German Länder. About 44,500 grade 9 students participated in the study. In mathematics, all general competencies and content areas were tested and averaged to obtain a global score of mathematics proficiency. In Science, in turn, only the two content areas “content knowledge” and “scientific inquiry” were assessed for biology, chemistry and physics (see also Educational standards by subject). In addition to achievement tests, the study used questionnaires for students, teachers and principals to assess curricular and extracurricular learning opportunities and to investigate which structures can be used to optimize learning processes.     <description xml:lang="de" descriptionType="Abstract">Der IQB-Ländervergleich 2012 in Mathematik und den Naturwissenschaften ist eine im Auftrag der Kultusministerkonferenz (KMK) der Bundesrepublik Deutschland bundesweit durchgeführte Studie. Sie dient der systematischen Überprüfung des Erreichens der Bildungsstandards für die Fächer Mathematik und die Naturwissenschaften in den Ländern der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Insgesamt nahmen an der Untersuchung ungefähr 44.500 Schüler*innen der 9. Jahrgangsstufe teil. Im Fach Mathematik wurden Aufgaben zu allen allgemeinen und inhaltsbezogenen mathematischen Kompetenzen getestet und in einem Globalwert für mathematische Kompetenz zusammengefasst. In den Naturwissenschaften hingegen bearbeiteten die Schüler*innen Aufgaben zur Erfassung ihrer Kompetenzen in den Bereichen „Fachwissen“ und „Erkenntnisgewinnung“ in den Fächern Biologie, Chemie und Physik (siehe auch Bildungsstandards in den Fächern). Neben den Kompetenztests kamen auch Fragebögen für Schüler*innen, Fachlehrkräfte und die Schulleitungen zum Einsatz. Diese dienten der Erfassung schulischer und außerschulischer Lerngelegenheiten und der Rahmenbedingungen, die zur Optimierung von Lernprozessen genutzt werden können. Außerdem wurden Indikatoren für die Lesekompetenz und die kognitiven Grundfähigkeiten der Schüler*innen erhoben. (IQB)</description>
    <description xml:lang="en" descriptionType="Abstract">The National Assessment Study in Mathematics and Science 2012 (IQB Ländervergleich Mathematik und Naturwissenschaften 2012) is a nationwide large-scale assessment commissioned by the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder (KMK) in the Federal Republic of Germany. The study was designed to assess students’ achievement in mathematics, biology, chemistry and physics and to evaluate to which extent they meet educational standards in the German Länder. About 44,500 grade 9 students participated in the study. In mathematics, all general competencies and content areas were tested and averaged to obtain a global score of mathematics proficiency. In Science, in turn, only the two content areas “content knowledge” and “scientific inquiry” were assessed for biology, chemistry and physics (see also Educational standards by subject). In addition to achievement tests, the study used questionnaires for students, teachers and principals to assess curricular and extracurricular learning opportunities and to investigate which structures can be used to optimize learning processes. Indicators of the students’ reading abilities and basic cognitive abilities were also assessed. (IQB)</description>
