Four Australian catchments with a variety of sizes and land uses are examined; three in temperate Melbourne and one in sub-tropical Brisbane. The two-parameter model typically explains 70- 90% of the variation in event loads at a site, satisfactorily predicts the loading rates within events and is relatively easy to calibrate. Rainfall intensity over short timesteps is considered to be the main driver of pollutant mobilisation.
